From Green Gifts to Mixx to “Are You Normal?” – Vancouver’s 1st Facebook Developer Garage

Vancouver’s first Facebook Developer (& Designer) Garage in late October 2007 showcased more than half a dozen world-class high-quality Facebook applications form Green Gifts – that lets you send free sustainability-themed 64×64-pixel icons such as an organic shirt or a local fruit basket with a personal message and a practical conservation tip to friends – to Mixx – that lets you invite your friends to create a music song playlist around a theme – to “Are You Normal?” – that quizzes you about politics, religion, fantasies and more and tells you how you compare to your friends or the world .

We’ve decided to reward and encourage excellence in Facebook application design and development by hosting the “Best of the West 2007 Awards” – the world’s first Facebook application awards – at the upcoming second Vancouver Facebook Developer (& Designer) Garage and the first in the new year in late January 2008.

Tell us about your Facebook application. To qualify for a “Best of the West 2007 Award” nomination your Facebook application must be designed or developed in British Columbia (B.C.) or if your Facebook application is from a neighboring province or state (such as Alberta or Washington) you must showcase your Facebook application at the upcoming Vancouver Facebook Developer (& Designer) Garage in late January 2008.
